Days, Nights is a reflection on memory and the inevitable passing of time. The verses are tangled up in racing anxieties, while the choruses provide a simple release and reassurance. Pat Keen’s rhythm playing in this song evokes time passing—the bass is like a steady pendulum swinging back and forth on a grandfather clock, and the drums tick away like a second hand.
